Air Handling Unit is a device used to condition and circulate air as part of a heating, ventilating and air-conditioning system. An air handler is usually a large insulated metal box containing a blower, heating or cooling coils, filters, sound attenuators and dampers. Air handlers usually connect to duct works that distribute the conditioned air through the building and return it to the AHU.

Single Skin AHU'S
The air handling unit is an integrated piece of equipment with thickness of 1.2 mm without puff. It is consisting of TEFC Squirrel Cage induction motor, DIDW Backward or forward curved centrifugal Blower, air-control dampers, filters. The purpose of this equipment is to collect and mix outdoor air with that returning from the building space. The air mixture is then cooled or heated, after which it is discharged into building space. Through a duct system air handler is normally associated with heating/cooling (HVACs) systems. They are normally mounted on the floor or roof mounted.
They often have an economizer or inlet damper that allows for small amount of outside air or make-up air to be pulled in through air handler. This also consists of Magnehelic gauges for measuring differential of filters. Single Skin AHU'S are mainly used where cooling is not required like ventilation & exhaust units.
Double Skin AHU'S
